    Old picture is old

  2. Anon says:

Totally not cool to take the p**s out of a child who’s obvs had to have a hare lip repair…..

  3. Little Walken says:

Why do I get the feeling any show she would put on would be better than most of the crap on TV?

  4. Grim says:

Not funny. She appears to have Downs Syndrome…this site’s supposed to make fun of people who are acting below their intelligence, not for people who are handicapped.

    • caitofga says:

Ditto. This is clearly a child with Downs Syndrome, not cool ICHC.

      • Waiiit... says:

Uhhh… you don’t actually know this kid, right? And…ahhh… she’s not wearing a t-shirt or name tag that actually says “I have down syndrome”… which means, you’re actually assuming a lot based on looks alone which means you’re actually more ignorant and offensive than anyone else here.

        Yeah… I know… that IS a cool story. Bro.

        • BUTFACE says:

WTF uuummm no one looks like that naturally if u knew someone with downs syndrome has a look

        • yourmom says:

Because everyone who has a mental disability wears a t-shirt or a name tag stating said disability.

Of course. How could I have missed that?

      • Sam says:

Actually… it’s NOT “clear” what, if anything, the child in this photo has. Yes, kids with Down Syndrome often have certain facial features in common, but I don’t see that clearly in this photograph. Not every child with a wide or round face has Down Syndrome.

I think she’s just a kid with unfashionable glasses and weird taste in finger puppets, anyway.

        • Savana says:

I think you are right. those magnifier glasses cut off her features. my great grandpa had a pair and at certain angles you get that image.

    • Troll-san says:

Isn’t acting dumber than you are, a handicap in and of itself?
By the way, your sentence is flawed.

    • I could’ve swore all Downs Syndrome victims had a distinctive face because of the trisomy 21. She doesn’t apear to have that characteristic… So, I don’t think she has Downs Syndrome, but maybe hare lip.

    • Pseudononymous says:

      It’s the internet. You’re new, aren’t you?

    • HercZanzibar says:

Mentally handicapped people are part of society. As much as you want to look down upon and make us feel bad for them, we are all equals. Isn’t that what dudes like MLK fought for. Have a Happy MLK Day!

    • OscarTheOcelot says:

Yes, because a person is developmentally disabled, unusual looking, and is being made fun of on the internet, it HAS to be Down Syndrome…
      P.S. It’s Down, not Downs.

      • Grim says:

No, I am not new to the internet. But this isn’t 4chan, it’s a funny picture site, which generally has humor in good taste. Yes, they are a part of society. Yes, they should be treated equally – with the same respect we are expected to treat others around us. She’s not making a face, that’s the way she looks.

The caption is actually pretty funny, but it implies that she would talk like a moron…just because she looks different due to whatever she has. If I was the parent of this child and stumbled across this photo I’d be furious.

        • derp? says:

This site is called DERP. The caption is like that, because that’s what DERP sounds like, not because she talks like that.
          Also, that’s not Down Syndrome.
          You are stupid.
          G’day.

    • Edison says:

Last I checked, most of these people aren’t acting “below their intelligence”, they had a picture snapped when they were in the middle of talking or laughing or switching expressions and it looked weird. Most of these expressions weren’t made on purpose. Just a point of clarification.

    • Victor says:

      indeed not cool… but i can’t help laughing :’(

  5. Moschet says:

One of the most frightening creatures I’ve ever seen.

  6. Danochka says:

I agree with Grim. I think mocking someone for the way they act is hilarious. Mocking someone for the way they were born, not so much.

  7. LOLZ says:

    LOL @ CAPTION

  8. Jyl says:

Truly, truly no disrespect intended, but this made me CRY I laughed so hard. Poor kid, but still utterly hilarious!

  9. scorelover says:

I wish the poster to get the same illness this poor kid has.

  10. Timmeh says:

I’m more concerned about them taking the mick out of the remarkable British accent!

  11. Davies says:

    … Not quite right…

  12. RoXas Saix says:

    I agree.
But then again, it’s kind of mean to make fun of anyone for any reason…
But if they are trolls, it’s all good.

  13. eb says:

NOT cool or funny . .

Derp is never to be used against someone who is actually disabled . .

  14. Heather says:

Wow. How callous. This person obviously has Down Syndrome…this is not funny at all.

  15. MoMo says:

She doesn’t have the physical characteristics of a down’s kid. She’s probably just has some sort of dwarfism. Either way, its still hilarious! :D

  16. HerpyDerpy says:

As someone with a sibling with down syndrome, I find this picture super amusing. You have to be able to laugh at your problems. I can just picture my sister doing this exactly, and I am loling. The most offensive thing about this whole situation is Moschet’s comment. The picture itself is quite amusing.

  17. Hierophantria says:

    So not funny.

  18. Dibbz says:

You don’t post a picture of a person with downs syndrome who isn’t even pulling a face. You don’t even understand what this website is for, you moron.

    • Grim says:

Oh sure, resort to name calling while missing the point. I worded it funny, but I felt it might be seen insensitive to just say, “This site’s for people who are making stupid faces, not for making fun of people with downs syndrome”

Since, well, to be insensitive for a moment I guess, people who do have this disorder are usually making some kind of face that you could consider to be funny…but the point is that ridiculing people for how they were born is tasteless. Laughing at silly faces people make is funny. But this little girl isn’t making a face on purpose, that’s just how she looks, through no fault of her own.

  19. mizery says:

Why so serious? Ya’ll need to stfu. That is funny as hell. lol

  20. Oh Hai! says:

Oh hey! Several trolls! maybe i should counter troll the trolls.
    Your argument is now invalid.
    Rule 34, no exceptions.

  21. biggy says:

    that is horrid D:
the guy who made this should feel ashamed D:

  22. Boom headshot! says:

    SHE’S STARING INTO MY SOUL!!!!!!!!!!
    WWCHBEEVCEVRGRGVRRGVRCEDXSXEFVC

    Imma go die now……

  23. michelle says:

Not even funny. The poor girl that you are teasing has down’s syndrome, and isn’t making a face. It breaks my heart and enrages me to read these comments. I think she is a beautiful person unlike you nimrods.

  24. wait says:

Hold on, none of us know if she truly has Down’s. You guys could be making wild accusations of a poor little girl.
Also, i’ve worked with mentally disabled kids, and like HerpyDerpy said above, you just sometimes have to laugh at your problems and just ease back. Just because they have a disability doesn’t mean we have to become ridiculously hyper-sensitive around them, because that’s what creates stereotypes and rumors and the like. We should just treat them like we would treat anyone else we would meet in our daily activities.

  25. Annie says:

Yeah, uncomfortable with this. The true beauty of derp comes from fast shutter speeds and temporary moments of derpitude, not disabilities.

  26. sdsjhahdakljdskla says:

    She is mentally derptarded

  27. rohypnoL says:

    lulzzzzzzz

  28. Vanaathiel says:

This should be taken down, it’s offensive. This isn’t someone caught in an awkward situation making a silly face, she has Downs Syndrome.

  29. Waiiit... says:

How many of you self-righteous a-holes are going to keep stating “This child is OBVIOUSLY disabled”?

Yeah, I guess a black guy is obviously a criminal, and a dude with a turban is obviously a terrorist.

Bunch of hypocritical idots know nothing. What else would you like to assume based on looks alone? Enlighten us please.

    • Anon says:

WTF?! How in the hell is anyone saying ALL white children have downs? You fail at making a point dude! haha!

      • ufrhqiuerf says:

Whether or not Janey Mcderp actually is a downs baby, the point of this site is to laugh at people making faces as if they WERE developmentally disabled. Trolls only have power because the self-riteous actively look for things to complain about.

    • BUTFACE says:

we didnt say that did we

  30. FrontDeskGirl says:

I laughed super hard at this. Hate me if you will. :P

  31. hurrrlgurrrl says:

For all you know, she might just have a square head. No reason to feel sorry for her.

  32. downy kid says:

    Grim is dumb! DERP DERP

  33. Jesusballs says:

    Best.. Caption.. ever..

  34. kayte says:

So many people got mad about this one. I’ve been laughing about it for 20 minutes. I can’t look at it without breaking down. Its my new wallpaper on my computer. She doesn’t have down syndrome. She’s an adorable average looking girl, i gotta niece that looks simliar. Im more sensitive than most, but come on. Not every person in these things needs to be defended. Its just funny, take it as is. Just my opinion. I could very well be wrong.

  35. jimbop says:

All you idiots are driving me crazy. The girl DOES NOT HAVE DOWN’S SYNDROME!!!!! (and yes it is called Down’s Syndrome, in the UK at least, where British doctor John Langdon Down discovered it)
If any of you had ever known any one with Down’s you’d know that this girl does not have it. My little brother died from heart issues relating to his Down’s but am I offended by this picture? No, of course not, mostly because she doesn’t have Down’s. But even if she did, it’d still be funny.
People with Down’s can still pull funny faces, can still do funny voices and above it all (and unlike you lot) they can take a joke.
My little bro loved a good laugh and didn’t feel the need to find something objectionable about every harmless joke.
This picture is funny because the girl is adorable and silly and childish and because you can hear her in you head blurting out “FENGA PAPIT”

tl;dr Get a grip, she doesn’t have Down’s and the pictucre would still be funny if she did.

  36. rossetra says:

    ^This.

  37. Scourge says:

Um, that’s down’s alright. I’d know, I’ve worked with hundreds of children with it.

I don’t find it funny at all. Gross, actually.

  38. Synsei says:

Finga puppit gal, hating you and me since about 2004.

  39. Emma says:

Any small child would have trouble pronouncing finger puppet. It’s not clear if the girl does or doesn’t have a disability. It’s actually more derogatory and close-minded to state that the photo is offensive due to ASSUMING that the caption is related to the ASSUMED disability.

I lol’d because it was cute and funny – I would have laughed to the child’s face in person regardless of whether or not they had a disability. People with disabilities CAN have fun, CAN understand jokes and can inspire laughter with the things they do (on purpose or not) just like ANY child. When you are laughing at a shortcoming, that is wrong. I’m not doing that.

For the record, I don’t think that girl is disabled.

    • what says:

thats exactly what I was trying to say below. I’m more offended at people accusing others of this simple image being offensive.

  40. whodatGURL says:

wat a beatiful child. *bursts out laughing*

  41. what says:

You know what disturbs me is the vast number of care-trolls that seem to think that disabled people should NEVER be joked about. Shouldn’t they be treated equally?

  42. ILoveTheMods!!!! says:

Wow a whole lot of whiny little f**kwits here. By the way, retarded people are natures way of providing comic relief.

  43. Anonymous says:

Ridiculing someone for something they can’t control is morally incorrect. There’s a reason why kids are offing themselves these days because of bullies that went too far; it’s because filth like this is acceptable humor in this day and age. Let’s make fun of that disabled kid, even though she didn’t do anything wrong to anybody!

    Makes me sick.

She’s adorable, peeking up from under the table with her little toys; why can’t we find that humorous, instead of assuming she has a speech impediment and having fun at her expense?

  44. Really? says:

    Uummmm, youre all morons.

I have Aspergers, ADHD, Bi-polar, and a couple other disorders.
4 of my cousins have down syndrome, they laughed.
we thought it hilarious that we could relate with funny “Trash” or “filth” like this. my cousin vincent laughed till he pooped.
it doesnt mean your making fun of us, or making light of some tragic hearbreaking malody. now if someone were to make a picture saying ” youre a retard lol” and had a picture of a down syndrome child i’d be furious. but stuff like this is just light hearted humor. ease up on the meme-ist critics. im sure saw this she’d laugh and say something like ” thats awesome”. people who think they protect people like us saying ” oh leave them alone theyre disabled” simply remind us that we are, in fact, a crippled child. by doing so you hurt us even more. just laugh along and say ” wow she is having a hellauva a time with those puppets”

  45. Really? says:

in case my first comment didnt post. i am a child who was born with ADHD, bipolar, aspergers, and a whole other list things. four of my 9 cousins have down syndrome. i e-mailed this to them and they all laughed. no a one offended. you know why? cuz they can relate. they dont care that people laugh cuz they laugh too. when we stop laughing and get offended BELIEVE ME youll know. and i know we are all different but im sure if the little girl saw this picshe would laugh her little adorable head off remembering what a darn good time she had with those puppets. the people who defend us and say “LEAVE THEM ALONE THEY ARE HANDICAPPED” or “STOP LAUGHING ATTHE DISABLED KIDS” end up only only making us feel worse. they just remind us that wetre are a tuchysubject and evertone must treat us differently. we dont care about stuff like this. ITS LIGHT HEARTED AIRY HUMOR! LAUGH! if it were some deep anti disabled sentiment we would be upset. but this is just funny. so critics and so called ‘defenders’ of this disabled girl…. just shut up and enjoy the damn meme.

  46. Really? says:

aaaaaannnd just for the record…. im with this ‘jimbop’ character she really doesnt look like it. and with 4 down syndrome cousins i’d be the one to ask. not to mention ive been to plenty of rallies and things with my parents when i was littler and met thousands and thousands of children with it. whether it looks like it or not i dont believe she does and if she does have down dyndrome, why the hell would it matter?!

  47. Muriel says:

This gets even funnier if you imagine it being said in a old jewish woman’s voice.
